Mercado do Bolhão is a historic public market located in the heart of Porto, in northern Portugal. Opened in 1914, it has long been one of the city’s most important traditional marketplaces, known for its neoclassical architecture and vibrant trading atmosphere.

The market is organised around a central open courtyard with multiple floors of stalls and shops surrounding it. Vendors sell fresh produce such as fish, meat, fruit, vegetables, and flowers, alongside traditional Portuguese products. The building itself features iron and stone construction, with arched entrances and covered walkways that reflect early 20th-century urban market design.

Today, Mercado do Bolhão remains a key cultural and commercial landmark in Porto, especially after recent restoration work that preserved its historic character while modernising its facilities.
