Description
Giardini del Molosiglio in Naples is a historic urban park situated along the waterfront in the San Ferdinando district, between the ferry terminal and the seafront promenade. Created in the 1920s as part of the city’s coastal development, the gardens transform a once industrial area into a green urban space where locals and visitors can take a leisurely break from exploring Naples’ busy streets.
The park covers around 21,000 m² and is characterised by tree‑lined paths, ornamental fountains such as the Fontana dei Papiri, Fontana delle Conchiglie, and Fontana dei Leoni, and open lawns shaded by palms and mature trees. It also includes a monument dedicated to infantry soldiers who fell in the World Wars, giving the gardens both a contemplative and cultural dimension beyond simple greenery.
Today, Molosiglio Gardens offers a tranquil corner of nature amidst the urban environment, where people can stroll, sit on benches, enjoy views over the harbour, or watch passing ships. Its waterfront location and relaxed atmosphere make it a pleasant stop during a day of sightseeing in Naples, whether you’re seeking a shady place to rest or a scenic view toward the Gulf of Naples.
