Description
Multisala Rossini is a modern cinema complex situated in the heart of Venice, near the historic center and close to landmarks like Rialto and Piazza San Marco. The cinema is housed within the former Teatro San Benedetto, an 18th-century theater that underwent significant renovation and was reopened as a multiplex in 2012. Despite the contemporary functionality of the venue, the restoration carefully preserved the building’s historical charm, blending Venetian architectural character with sleek, modern design elements to create a distinctive cultural space.
The complex features three cinema halls: the largest, Sala 1, accommodates about 300 viewers and is equipped with both digital and traditional 35mm projection, as well as 3D capabilities. The two smaller halls each seat around 110 guests and are fully digital. Multisala Rossini offers a diverse programming lineup, including mainstream blockbusters, international art films, and curated classics, often presented in their original languages with Italian subtitles. The venue regularly collaborates with local institutions such as the Venice Biennale and Teatro La Fenice, supporting a strong cultural and educational agenda through film retrospectives, school screenings, and cinematic events.
Beyond its screening rooms, Multisala Rossini includes a welcoming café and terrace, offering a pleasant spot to relax before or after a film. Its location and atmosphere make it a favorite among both locals and tourists looking for a high-quality cinema experience within the historical setting of Venice. By combining modern viewing technology with a deep respect for the city’s artistic legacy, Rossini has become a standout venue for film lovers in Venice.
