Taman Ayun Temple is a royal temple complex located in the village of Mengwi in central Bali. Built in 1634 by the king of Mengwi, it served as the main state temple of the former Mengwi Kingdom and remains an important example of classical Balinese temple architecture.

The temple is surrounded by a wide moat, giving the impression of a floating sanctuary, and is entered via an ornate gate leading into landscaped courtyards and gardens. Its layout is carefully organised into multiple courtyards, with meru (multi-tiered shrines) rising above manicured lawns and lotus-filled ponds. The symmetry of its design, combined with the reflective water and surrounding greenery, creates a calm and balanced atmosphere.

Today, Taman Ayun Temple is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage cultural site as part of the Cultural Landscape of Bali Province.
