Description
Tivoli Park is Ljubljana’s largest and most popular green space, located just west of the city centre. Covering around 5 square kilometres, it stretches from Miklošič Street in the Old Town up toward the Rožnik Hill area, making it easily accessible on foot from the historic centre. The park combines manicured gardens, wide promenades, tree-lined avenues, and open lawns, and features decorative elements such as fountains, statues, and ornamental flower beds. Tivoli Park is an ideal place for a relaxing stroll, jogging, picnicking, or simply enjoying the outdoors while surrounded by natural beauty.
The park is an outdoor attraction and free to enter, open year-round from dawn until dusk. Visitors can explore its main paths, the Jakopič Promenade lined with sculptures, the Tivoli Mansion, and several sports and recreational areas. Dog walking is permitted, and there are designated playgrounds for children. Since it’s a public space, there are no strict schedules or entry fees, though some organized events, open-air concerts, or seasonal exhibitions may take place in the park at certain times.
For holidaymakers, Tivoli Park is a versatile stop, whether for a brief walk, photography, or spending a few hours in nature. Comfortable shoes are recommended for exploring the longer trails, and the park is accessible to families, runners, cyclists, and pet owners. Nearby cafés, museums, and attractions make it easy to combine a visit to Tivoli Park with other Ljubljana sightseeing, and it’s especially pleasant during spring and summer when flowers are in full bloom and the outdoor spaces are lively with locals and tourists alike.
